Step through the doors of Tyne Theatre & Opera House for a free 1-hour guided tour of the beautiful Grade I-listed building with NE1’s 24 Doors of Christmas.
This fascinating tour will reveal the inner workings of the theatre and its rich history. Alongside visiting its understage area home to a rare surviving example of Victorian stage machinery, you’ll watch a short video of it in action and listen to a demonstration of the ‘Thunder Run’ from the auditorium.
That’s not all either! You’ll also discover the investigative works that have uncovered the theatre’s historic stencils, be able to search its new production database for your favourite Victorian actors and find out about Tyne Theatre’s plans for its historic Grand Saloon. Don’t miss this superb opportunity to find out more about Newcastle's hidden gem!
