The Guildhall

About the event

See what’s behind the grand neo-Grecian façade of The Guildhall with NE1’s 24 Doors of Christmas.

A seat of power in Newcastle for over 250 years, the oldest parts of The Guildhall date back to the mid-17th century while its iconic front was completed by renowned local architect John Dobson in 1825.

Join Newcastle City Guides for an exclusive one-hour tour of this hidden gem that’s not normally open to the public and explore the Mayor’s Parlour, the Merchant Adventurers’ Room and the old courtroom where many a felon met their fate.

The one-hour tour begins at 2pm. This event is free but tickets must be reserved in advance. Book your tickets at www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/24-doors-guildhall-tickets-1089736845239.

If you book a ticket but are unable to make it to the event, please cancel your ticket by emailing NE1 at kitty.brown@newcastlene1ltd.com or calling 0191 235 7098 as we operate wait lists for each event to ensure people who can attend are offered the chance to.
