Newcastle Cathedral
About the event
As part of NE1’s 24 Doors of Christmas, visit Newcastle Cathedral as Christmas Eve moves towards Christmas Day!
The Cathedral is a stunning building anytime of the year, but especially during the festive period so why not stop by and round off 24 Doors of Christmas in style?
You can either visit at any point throughout the day or take in one of three events that Newcastle Cathedral are hosting on Tuesday 24th December.
Crib Service - 11am
Prepare for Christmas and hear the story of the Nativity as Newcastle Cathedral builds the crib. At this informal and interactive service, you’ll meet the angels, shepherds and wise men while singing along to some of your favourite carols!
Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols - 6pm
A traditional service of uplifting readings telling the story of Christian salvation, incorporating Christmas carols and hymns sung by the Cathedral Choir.
Candlelit Midnight Mass - 11:30pm
Join Newcastle Cathedral for the first Eucharist of Christmas Day. By candlelight you’ll celebrate the birth of Jesus with a beautiful service featuring traditional carols and choral music.
