About the event
As part of NE1’s 24 Doors of Christmas, Newcastle Castle are opening their doors and offering free costume guided tours of the iconic building.
Meeting at the Castle Keep, you’ll enjoy an exclusive tour of the imposing Norman fortress as your guide leads you through its various passageways and chambers while regaling you with tales from the Castle’s historic past. You’ll even have the opportunity to take the spiral staircase to the Castle Keep roof and take in the most commanding views of the city and the River Tyne.
Please note that the Castle Keep is a Scheduled Ancient Monument with steep, uneven stairs and no lift access. Unfortunately, this means that this tour is not accessible to wheelchair users.
